About The Position

Inspects, maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. This role is fully qualified to perform the most complex functions and may lead the work of others. The position requires a Class II High Voltage Unrestricted Electrical Contractor License and offers an hourly pay range between $38-41 p/hr.

Requirements

High school or GED with the ability to read, write, and comprehend English (operational, process, safety, and quality instructions) and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
At least five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment with ability to comprehend complex specifications, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site-specific, facility-required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.
Must consistently demonstrate the ability to perform all assigned tasks in an organized, accurate, and timely manner.
Must demonstrate ability to efficiently maintain, install, and repair any electrical equipment which may include pumps, blowers, compressors, and other electrically driven equipment.
Must have the ability to diagnose problems regardless of complexity, troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems, and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Must demonstrate ability to operate Computer Maintenance Management System (software).
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Class II High Voltage Unrestricted Electrical Contractor License required.
Minimum water/wastewater license as required by regulatory agencies at site.
Must possess a valid driver’s license (commercial license and heavy equipment operator license is desirable) and a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

Performs preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment according to supplier specifications.
Estimates time and material costs for assigned projects.
Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing devices.
May fabricate devices and assemblies from steel.
May weld, thread pipe, and solder using gas and electric equipment.
Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating conditions is restored.
Inspects and troubleshoots electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices and diagnoses basic operational problems. Takes corrective action and obtains necessary repair parts per procedure in the assigned area.
Prepares work orders either manually or from a CMMS system as required and prepares work-related reports, procurement requisitions, charts, graphs, and data submittal requirements in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs electrically related activities specified by work order and installs new or replacement electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
Reports and documents results of inspections and work performed.
Performs facility maintenance and repair and may replace or install damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tile, door locks, carpet, and/or paint.
May assist with maintaining parts, spares, and maintenance inventory.
May assist in other areas of the plant as directed.
May assist with orienting or training new or less experienced Maintenance personnel.
