About The Position

Analyzes all types of hydraulic, electrical, electronic and pneumatic circuits, diagrams or drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify or service all types of electrical systems and devices. Sketches and constructs electrical systems and component parts using tools normal to the trade. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment. Analyzes breakdowns of plant equipment and follows a practical approach to effect repairs. Utilizes Reliability Tools and Processes to improve plant equipment reliability. Leads maintenance forces in rapidly responding to unplanned interruptions or breakdown situations. Identifies wastes that will reduce total costs and improve equipment reliability. Learns and understands the function and operation of equipment in the assigned area. Provides technical expertise to the department on equipment capabilities and functionality. Understands precision maintenance requirements to not jeopardize Quality of product as a result of maintenance actions. Ensures documented procedures are utilized where appropriate and followed correctly. Ability to succeed in a metrics driven environment. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years heavy industrial maintenance and electrical experience or successful completion of an approved Heavy Industry Apprentice Program.
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Act DC motor and drives, 460V circuits, 4 to 20 MAmp control circuits, thermocouples, single phase and 3-phase circuits, reversing starters, personal computers, gas fired burners, heaters.
  • Print reading including electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics.
  • Troubleshooting, conduit threading, bending installation, welding, wiring installation, electronic repair skills.
  • Use of Voltohm meters, meggar, oscilloscope leaders, PLC's, PC's.
  • Calibration of all types of electrical equipment and gas fired burners.
  • Able to work flexible hours as required.
  • Strenuous physical activities including a lot of walking, climbing ladders and stairs, entering confined areas, heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more) and working in high areas.
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Molten metal (melting, casting) or Rolling Mill maintenance experience preferred.
  • Electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic experience preferred/desired.
