About The Position

This position supports the dredge with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation (EIA) system. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager.

Requirements

• Familiarity with using Electrical Test Equipment such as high voltage testers, multi-meters, meggers, and calibrators.
• Ability to read electrical wiring schematics.
• Willingness to fill in as a relief Electrician on dredges.
• Must be willing to travel to dredges.
• 3 or more years’ experience in the electrical field.
• Must be able to read electrical drawings (Instrumentation)
• Be willing to live in Galveston or willing to relocate.
• Must be reliable and motivated.
• Ability to obtain TWIC.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Competencies: stress management/composure, teamwork, results driven.

Nice To Haves

• I&E Certification/Degree highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of AC/DC and synchronous motors, MCC’s switchgears, controls, fault protection relays, breakers, and transformers.
• Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Instrumentation that includes Pressure Transmitters, flow meters, level transducers, RTD/Thermocouple temperature sensors, light switches, proximity switches, encoders, etc.
• Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of PLC and computer systems, network switches, and any other related components.
