This is a year-round position for an Electrician responsible for safely installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components on asphalt and aggregate plant equipment.

Requirements

  • Electrical Apprentice.
  • An understanding of electrical theory and application.
  • Provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and applicable driving record.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2-year degree from accredited college or university in related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in electrical field.
  • Class A Journey worker minimum, Master preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely install and repair electrical systems and electrical components at asphalt plants and aggregate equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications using hand tools, power tools and electrical equipment.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment following blueprints and electrical codes using hand tools and voltage tester.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus using test equipment and replace damaged or broken wires using hand tools.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components such as circuit boards, soft starts, PLC5, VFD2 & remote-control systems.
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machine and positions sensing devices using hand tools.
  • Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card & acceptable driving record.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
