About The Position

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Utilizes blueprints, manuals, schematic diagrams, national and local codes, and specifications in the performance of daily work. This role involves connecting and disconnecting power for equipment, installing electrical circuits, testing circuits for proper operation, identifying and repairing electrical malfunctions, and ensuring the proper operation and safety of equipment. The Electrician will also assemble circuit breaker panels and power distribution systems, install interconnecting conduit and wiring, and follow national electrical code standards. Responsibilities include testing circuits and distribution equipment systems, repairing or replacing defective components, and working with schematic diagrams to solve complex problems. Additionally, the role involves installing and maintaining building and patient alarm systems, working with manufacturer representatives, installing new components, and performing minor mechanical repairs. The Electrician may also assist other tradesmen, mentor other personnel, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in Commercial Electrical work.
  • Strong leadership ability.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Independent and critical thinking skills.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
  • Knowledgeable of codes and regulations pertaining to trade.
  • Valid Driver's License (If out of state hire, the record report from applicable state's driver's license department).
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or certificate of completion of a qualified apprenticeship program.
  • Journeyman's certification.
  • FCC license/certification.
  • OSHA Arc Flash Training.
  • Experience in Healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Connects and disconnects power for equipment.

  • Tests circuits for proper operation.

  • Uses test equipment to check for proper voltage and continuity.
  • Replaces or repairs damaged components.
  • Ensures proper operation and safety of equipment.
  • Assembles circuit breaker panels and power distribution systems.
  • Installs interconnecting conduit and wiring for proper circuit operations.
  • Follows national electrical code standards.
  • Tests circuits and distribution equipment systems to meet specifications.
  • Identifies malfunctioning equipment.
  • Repairs or replaces defective components.
  • Works with schematic diagrams to solve complex problems.
  • Installs and maintains building and patient alarm systems.
  • Works with manufacturer representatives regarding programming changes, repairs, parts and service.
  • Installs new components to expand systems.
  • Maintains and repairs electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnoses non-electrical malfunctions in equipment.
  • Performs minor mechanical repairs to machinery and equipment.
  • Assists tradesmen and performs other maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Mentors and educates other personnel in construction and maintenance procedures and techniques.
