About The Position

The Electrician will perform necessary electrical work within the scope of his/her license to improve electrical safety, efficiency and minimize electrical interruptions. Work shall include but not be limited to: the installation, repair and preventative maintenance, inspection, testing and operation of electrical equipment. The location of work includes a healthcare environment, business occupancy, outpatient clinics, Ambulatory Surgery Center environment and other N/AIDHC buildings both on and off campus. This work shall include but is not limited to high voltage gear, generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, MCCs, adjustment of electrical units, electrical controls, components and wiring.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • No less than 1 year working as an Electrician
  • Must be available to accept on-call rotation schedule and report in a timely manner ready to perform work.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years' experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, performs, and delegates installation, testing, inspection, preventive maintenance and repair duties involving electric lights, power distribution circuits, controls, appliances and other electrical systems throughout N/AIDHC Delaware Valley facilities.
  • Receives and reviews work orders and prioritizes assignments. Completes all assigned Preventative Maintenance (PMs) and Corrective Maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner. Actively participates in the implementation and ongoing evaluation and improvement of electrical system preventive maintenance program. Complete assigned rounds in a timely and competent manner.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Facility Department and promptly contacts outside contractors and vendors as needed to maintain the electrical system. Keeps Manager aware of system issues.
  • Coordinates annual and other periodic testing of switchgear and feed circuits to conform to all regulatory requirements. Performs or assists in required testing of the emergency generator system and other required regulatory testing and documentation of electrical system. Determines backup emergency power needs and determines appropriate times for testing emergency power systems. Provides advance notice of testing to affected departments.
  • Acts to minimize the risk of electrical outages and keeps affected departments, Command Center and leaders informed of any outages or potential for outages. Collaborates with manager to reduce risk of utility interruptions.
  • Works closely with the Facility Managers, Electrical Supervisor and staff to provide for the electrical safety of all patients, visitors, and staff through an appropriately and safely maintained plan and environment as prescribed in the State Electrical Code, ADJ and NFPA Code requirements. Report unsafe working conditions to Manager, escalate unsafe conditions to leaders as appropriate.

  • Effectively read and interpret blueprints, engineering documents and electrical schematics.
  • Maintain good attendance on scheduled weekdays and accept after hour work assignments including holidays, weekends or other work schedules as required. Must be available to accept on-call rotation schedule and report in a timely manner ready to perform work.
  • Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.
