McCormick is currently hiring an Industrial Electrician to join their Operations team in London, Ontario. This role is crucial for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and automated manufacturing equipment. The Industrial Electrician will support production by diagnosing issues, performing maintenance, and implementing improvements to maximize uptime and productivity. This position requires technical expertise in motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems, while adhering to all relevant codes, regulations, and company policies, including food safety and GMP standards.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Diploma
  • 442A trade license and certificate of Apprenticeship
  • 3-4 years of on-the-job experience, preferable in food industry
  • Effective communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and industrial equipment, including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, control panels, and automated production machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and control system failures to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment to improve reliability, safety, and operational performance.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to complete repairs, modifications, and installations.
  • Install, test, calibrate, and commission electrical equipment and control systems, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance, energy efficiency, and production processes.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation, including work orders, equipment history, inspections, and spare parts requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, GMP requirements, and company policies, while promoting a safe and reliable work environment.
