About The Position

Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking First-Class Electricians, also known as Electrical Journeymen, to lay out, install, and repair shipboard electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, communication circuits, and electronic equipment. This role is crucial for powering the systems that keep each vessel mission-ready. The position offers an opportunity to apply electrical expertise on advanced naval vessels at "America's Shipyard."

Requirements

Minimum 4 years of experience in the commercial, industrial or marine electrical field
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read and understand complex electrical drawings and schematics
Skilled use of electrical tools, test devices, and troubleshooting techniques
Strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork
Willingness to work in an active shipyard environment supporting ship construction
Ability to read and interpret marine drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements

Nice To Haves

One (1) year shipboard experience (sonar, radar, power, internal communication, navigation, etc.)

Responsibilities

Lay out, install, and repair marine cables, power systems, lighting, and electronic equipment
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment to perform precise, code-compliant work
Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, equipment, and shipboard power systems
Work in shipyard environments that may involve heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
Support production across multiple shifts in a 24/7 industrial environment
Follow Ingalls’ strong electrical safety procedures in every task and workspace
