About The Position

BEMAC is seeking qualified Electricians to join their on-site Construction team for a 2 to 3 month project near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This role involves working on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The position operates on a 21 days on, 7 days off rotation with 10-hour workdays. While local candidates are preferred, fly-in, fly-out options from Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta are available for eligible candidates.

Requirements

  • Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level
  • Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in electrical and/or instrumentation equipment and systems
  • Knowledge and experience with Heat Trace systems
  • Experience in an industrial setting required
  • Aerial Work Platform (AWP), and Fall Arrest Certification
  • Successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks (Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks, Provincial Driver’s Abstract)
  • Standard HSE certifications may be required including WHMIS, First Aid etc.

  • Knowledge and experience with industrial construction an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Review electrical and instrumentation engineering, and construction work packages.
  • Review and execute scope based on Field Instruction Work Packages.
  • Understand and execute work under LOTO requirements.
  • Install industrial cable tray and power cables.
  • Install process pipe heat tracing, SR or MI.
  • Support the install of instrumentation.
  • Install MCC Wrappers.
  • Management of material for required scope.
  • Communicate and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with Field Engineering and Quality Control to efficiently resolve hurdles.
  • Provide knowledge and advice on electrical and/or instrument equipment and systems.
  • Provide direction in establishing the electrical and instrumentation requirements and specifications for existing and new facilities.
  • Provide support in commissioning and start-up activities, as required, for the electrical and/or instrumentation equipment and systems in the field.
  • Provide ongoing support to operations.
  • Other duties as required.
