About The Position

Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician for a full-time maintenance position in Point Comfort, TX. This position is not eligible for per diem or relocation; the successful candidate will be a current resident in or near the area. The role involves planning layout, installing, and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment. The job requires adherence to specifications and local electrical codes, including preparing sketches, installing conduit, pulling wiring, splicing wires, connecting fixtures and equipment, and testing circuits for safety and compatibility. The electrician will also observe installed systems for hazards and make necessary adjustments or repairs.

Requirements

3 to 5 years experience
Must be able to pass background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring consist with specifications and local electrical codes.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit.
Pulls wiring through conduit.
Splices wires.
Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
May repair faulty equipment or systems.
