The Public Works Traffic Operations Division is hiring an Electrician to perform electrical work involving the construction, installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and communications systems. Here’s what you can expect to do: Perform electrical work involving the construction, installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and communications systems. Maintain, repair, and install instruments, apparatus, and equipment, including high and low-voltage and fiber optic systems. Install, maintain, and test electrical equipment used in operating a variety of equipment such as traffic signals, streetlights, pumps, microprocessors, control panels, and transformers. Apply electrical expertise in facility construction, maintenance, and repair. Utilize aerial personal lifts, ladders, and manual tools. Adhere to OSHA requirements and established safety policies and practices. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Information about the current vacancies: Currently, there are vacancies for both day and evening shifts, with occasional after-hours callbacks. These positions will also be required to assist with plowing during snow emergencies.
