About The Position

The Electrician is responsible for the day to day operation of the electrical systems for the property. This role involves maintaining all power distribution and electrical systems throughout the hotel, reporting malfunctions to their supervisor, and assisting in renovations, repairs, and alterations to electrical apparatus. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, understand equipment controls, and use electrical testing equipment. Additionally, the electrician will be responsible for ensuring all work meets codes and regulations, tracking labor and materials for billing, and setting up electrical systems for guest functions. The role also includes training other staff members, analyzing problems, and formulating plans to complete work efficiently and with high quality. Adherence to company policies, including fire and safety procedures, is essential.

Requirements

  • Be a licensed Electrician in the respective state of employment.
  • Ability to work on electrical systems from low voltage up to 480v.
  • Ability to track labor and materials for billing purposes.
  • Responsible for ensuring work performed is completed meeting all codes and regulations.
  • Be able to troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Be familiar with equipment controls.
  • Be proficient with electrical volt / ohm meters and other electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, safety awareness information, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers and fellow workers.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with codes and is able to read schematics and blue prints.
  • Be familiar with generator transfer switch, motors, and controllers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day operation of the electrical systems for the property.
  • Responsible for the day to day operations and repairs of the electrical systems throughout the property.
  • Maintain in safe condition all power distribution and electrical systems throughout the hotel, and reports all malfunctions to their supervisor asap.
  • Assists in related areas of work, that is, renovations, repairs and alterations to electrical apparatus.
  • To keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management.
  • To continually support and improve engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.
  • To be willing to train and instruct other members of the staff by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of your own.
  • To strive to become an independent mechanic, able to analyze problems and to formulate plans to get work done quickly with a high degree of quality.
  • Reports for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
  • Ensures a complete understanding of and adheres to the policies within the employee’s handbook.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities to the standard set by the department and company.
  • As applicable, this position will need to demonstrate the ability to bid jobs, and complete work, while tracking time and material to ensure profitability.
  • Set up electrical systems for guest functions.
  • Install conduit runs.
  • Keep engineering and work areas clean.
  • Ensure a complete understanding of and adheres to company’s fire and safety procedures.
  • Maintains sound knowledge of company’s facilities and related services.
  • Attend meetings, training, and/or perform other duties as required.
