Electrician- Full time day shift
About The Position
Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Electrician for a full-time day shift position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial or institutional wiring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing wiring systems, circuits, electrical fixtures, and electrical equipment using schematics, diagrams, and blueprints. Key responsibilities include conducting operational tests of electrical systems and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and departmental guidelines. Requirements
- High School Grad or Equivalent
- Trade School Graduate
- Driver's License
- Related experience - 5 years
- Post-secondary/vocational training in electrical theory, circuitry, codes, and troubleshooting with courses in blueprint reading mechanical drawing, mathematics, electrical theory, and electrical work - 1 year
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and the Statewide Building Code
Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains and repairs wiring systems, circuits, electrical fixtures and electrical equipment using schematics, diagrams, blueprints
- Conducts operational tests of the electrical systems
- Follows operational and departmental guidelines
- Meets all regulatory and compliance requirements
