This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic systems and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. It includes participating in preventative maintenance, performing inspections and machining tasks, and providing support during off-hours or emergencies. The work requires physical effort, sensory attention, moderate mental stress, and occasional overtime or travel between buildings. The hourly range for this position is $41 to $45 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure clarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities.

Requirements

  • Valid Certificate of Qualification – 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Electrician- Construction and Maintenance (with manufacturing experience).
  • Proven experience working in commercial, or industrial environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, problem identification and resolution;
  • Must be able to read blue prints and knowledge of PLC, Electrical and Mechanical Systems
  • Strong project management skills (be able to take an assigned project from beginning to end without supervision);
  • Well organized, quality-focused, with a proactive and positive approach in the workplace;
  • Flexibility to work both independently as well as be a strong team player;
  • Available to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, assemble, install, maintain, connect, and test electrical systems in various environments.
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and electronic controls in industrial sites or plants.
  • Actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Perform machining and fabricating of parts
  • Systematically diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical and electronic systems.
  • Perform inspections and testing to ensure systems are safe and up to code.
  • Fully understand and adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Quality, Security and Company policies and procedures;
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
  • Provide additional assistance during off hours (on call and overtime) i.e. for breakdowns and rotating shifts;
