About The Position

This position is responsible for performing routine electrical repairs to existing facilities and equipment in the Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Division. The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is an "at will" employer.

Requirements

• Educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, and to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
• Journeyman electrician license.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Replace existing receptacles and lights.
• Perform general wiring for bridges and buildings.
• Perform work on air conditioning, refrigeration, laboratory equipment, and outdoor lighting.
• Operate bucket truck and perform related electrical work.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment.
• Perform work on traffic signals as directed.
