About The Position

The Electrician is responsible for performing a variety of electrical tasks safely, including installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, testing, repairing and installation in large commercial projects. This role requires comfort working at various heights, including regular ladder climbing and utilizing various lifts such as scissor lifts and boom lifts. The position is part of the Gulfstream Facilities team in Savannah, GA, working the 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED
5+ years commercial or industrial electrical maintenance experience
Must have experience with commercial and industrial power distribution systems, including 120/208V and 277/480V configurations
Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skill in using hand and power tools.
Must be safety conscious.
Must be authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of and experience working with electrical systems ranging from 120V – 480V
Knowledge of working with ballast lighting
Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Codes.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in electrical trade.
Willingness to Work at Various Heights
Comfortable working in elevated environments.
Capable of safely ascending and descending ladders of various sizes and types.
Proficiency in operating a range of lifts.

Responsibilities

Inspects, repairs, troubleshoots, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical systems, circuits and equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Reads, interprets, and works from diagrams, blueprints, sketches, repair manuals, and schematics.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Works safely within a team-oriented environment.
Works at various heights, including tasks that may require being at different heights for extended periods.
Regularly climbs ladders of various sizes and types.
Operates a range of lifts, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other mechanical devices to reach higher areas.
