About The Position

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated building maintenance services company, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated licensed electrician. This position will be responsible for the operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of all electrical power and lighting systems, including transformers, switches, circuit breakers, motor controllers, panel boards, wiring devices, lighting fixtures, lamps, and grounding. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial building electrical, digital, analog, and related systems, with knowledge and experience in building automation systems and their calibration. The electrician will also be required to perform other trades work and work overtime during scheduled preventive maintenance shutdowns, emergencies, and other workload demands.

Requirements

  • Possess current active State of PA electrical license or Journeyman equivalent in electrical installation and maintenance, with a minimum of six years' experience.
  • 5 years of Field Experience, trade school, or apprenticeship
  • Electrical certification to a minimum of 480 Volts
  • Full knowledge of the National Electrical Code, local codes and building standards, and the ability to interpret such codes.
  • Must be able to work independently or with supervision and read and work from blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Must be familiar with the safe handling and use of hand tools and power hand tools, as well as the safe use of hand trucks, dollies, lifts, and other personnel lifts.
  • Ability to carry an 8’ ladder and work from ladders and lifts.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with OSHA safety practices for electrical high voltage equipment, high and low-pressure vessels, and other motor-driven automatic operation machinery.
  • Possesses the ability to work with and communicate with all levels of management to secure cooperation for performing maintenance, repairs, and alterations.
  • Ability to interact productively with outside contractors/vendors.
  • Valid Drivers License.

  • Will have knowledge & experience of building automation systems and be capable of all calibrations required with the system.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair all commercial building electrical, digital, analog, and related systems.
  • Perform electrical work required for installation and maintenance of equipment, systems, and facilities, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on and repairs electrical distribution systems equipment, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, BAS alarm systems, UPS, and lighting systems.
  • Install and modify 110/208/277/480-volt circuits for computer circuits, copiers, specialized equipment, motor, and motor control systems, lighting control systems, low voltage control circuits, and energy-efficient lighting.
  • Make standard computations relating to load requirements to determine wiring and electrical equipment.
  • Perform electrical repairs of starters, switches, receptacles, and wiring.
  • Perform relamping and/or repairs of light fixtures.
  • Install and trace wire pull for phone and data drops.
  • Stay abreast of changes (safety and code) in the field through seminars and other educational means.
  • Inspect operation, maintain, and repair control system throughout the complex.
  • Install or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Use a variety of electricians’ hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
  • Respond to emergency situations, troubleshoot, and repair electrical problems; will carry a shop radio for rapid response.
  • Assist other staff to troubleshoot equipment problems as required.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company and client standards.
  • Be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Willingly perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
  • May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.
