About The Position

Function as an Electrician Trainee under a certified or licensed Electrician for Bergelectric Corp. Assist with installing new electrical systems and repairing existing systems while complying with national, state, and local electrical codes and Bergelectric policies and procedures. Support work at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

Currently an Electrician Trainee, enrolled or working on enrollment in an approved Electrician Trainee program in accordance with applicable state regulations.
Knowledge of electrical theory, basic circuits, branch circuits, and specialty systems.
Knowledge of magnetic induction, three-phase transformers, conductors, and wiring methods.
Ability to read and understand electrical single-line blueprints.
Familiarity with aspects of electrical-system operation, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of tools and equipment and how to use them safely.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. from the ground and pull 50 lbs. of force.
Ability to climb ladders, pull wire and conduit, and fully squat, stoop, or kneel while wearing a 25 lbs. tool belt.
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires.
Ability to work off ladders, man lifts, or reach booms.

Responsibilities

Assist with installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems in support of Bergelectric’s safety, operations, and productivity initiatives.
Use industry-related hand tools and power tools under supervision.
Assist the Electrician with measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems, and other wire raceway systems.
Assist the Electrician with wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, and switches.
Work with an Electrician to splice and terminate wires at junction points.
Clean up and gather and transport materials to electricians on the construction site.
Communicate effectively with Foremen and crew members.
Maintain the workflow schedule to meet Bergelectric productivity objectives.
Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
Adhere to Bergelectric safety policies and procedures.
