About The Position

Pembina Pipeline U.S. is a dynamic energy transportation and midstream provider with over 65 years of experience. The company owns pipelines that transport hydrocarbon liquids and natural gas products, as well as gathering and processing facilities and an oil and natural gas liquids infrastructure and logistics business. Pembina U.S. Corporation is actively hiring for a Tradesperson, Electrician to be based at the Natural Gas Liquids Extraction and Fractionation Facility located in Morris (Channahon), Illinois. This position reports to the I&E Day Foreman within the Maintenance Team. As part of the Maintenance Team, the Tradesperson, Electrician will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and reliability of plant electrical systems, directly supporting overall facility operations. Working within a diverse team that includes plant operations, maintenance technicians, safety coordinators, engineers, and contractors, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the plant. The role requires a strong understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of motor control centres (MCCs), high-voltage systems, and electrical equipment operating at 15kV, 5kV, and 480V. Pembina’s Operations include Transmission and Extraction asset base that underpins the safe, reliable movement and processing of hydrocarbon streams across North America. These operations gather, transport, and process production from upstream sources through an integrated network of pipelines and facilities, ensuring efficient delivery to downstream markets. Through extraction and processing capabilities, hydrocarbon streams are optimized into usable products, supporting system integrity, operational flexibility, and value realization across Pembina’s interconnected infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Relevant industrial/manufacturing experience as an Electrician or an associate degree in Electrical field
  • Demonstrated learning agility with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems, technologies, and processes
  • Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, safety-focused team player with a preventative mindset
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across engineers, technicians, contractors, vendors, and leadership

  • Ability to prioritize, manage time, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical information and measurements
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Commitment to personal and team safety, including proper use of PPE
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet site requirements (including local residency and work authorization)
  • Must live 60 miles of reporting location
  • Must be legally able to work in the country of the position

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA safety standards
  • Working knowledge of low-, medium-, and high-voltage breakers
  • Extensive experience with industrial 480V systems, including motor contactors, MCCs, VFDs, motors, and electrical distribution systems
  • Familiarity with feeder and motor protection relays
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, rack breakers up to 13.8kV, wire single- and three-phase motors, and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics and loop sheets
  • Apply applicable codes, regulations, reliability practices, and OEM standards
  • Demonstrated experience installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining industrial controls, motors, VFDs, lighting, and heat trace systems
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance using diagnostic tools to ensure system reliability and safety
  • Adhere to company safety policies and proactively communicate safety concerns
  • Create and manage work orders; update maintenance records and drawings
  • Monitor electrical systems to ensure efficient and reliable performance
  • Champion Pembina’s Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data
