Requirements

  • 3–5 years of residential electrical service experience (service and repair work, not exclusively new construction).
  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate a full-size service van.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own daily schedule in the field.
  • Tech-comfortable: able to use an iPad and field software for job documentation.
  • Strong communication skills: able to explain electrical issues clearly and professionally to homeowners.
  • Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.

Nice To Haves

  • California General Electrician Certification or equivalent journeyman credential.
  • Experience with panel upgrades, EV charger installations, or smart home systems.
  • Light commercial electrical experience.
  • Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field service management software.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Perform residential electrical service calls, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
  • Handle a wide range of job types including panel upgrades, outlet and switch work, fixture installations, circuit additions, GFCI/AFCI installation, EV charger installations, and ceiling fans.
  • Diagnose complex electrical issues accurately and propose clear, honest solutions to homeowners.
  • Ensure all work meets NEC standards and applicable local code requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners, explaining problems, presenting solutions, and setting expectations.
  • Represent Mr. Electric with professionalism on job sites, maintaining a clean appearance and respectful conduct.
  • Build homeowner trust through honest assessments, quality workmanship, and a positive attitude.
  • Handle warranty or call-back situations promptly and professionally.
  • Complete all job documentation accurately in ServiceTitan, including work orders, job notes, photos, and invoices, using a company-provided iPad.
  • Obtain customer signature on work authorization before starting every job.
  • Identify and communicate to the office when permits are required for a job.
  • Return all paperwork, payments, and collected materials accurately and on time.
  • Maintain the company-provided service van in clean, organized, and road-ready condition.
  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections of the van (fuel, tire pressure, lights, cargo security).
  • Report any mechanical issues, damage, or accidents to the office immediately.
  • Maintain and accurately account for all tools, equipment, and inventory assigned to the van.
  • Follow all Mr. Electric service standards, company policies, and safety protocols.
  • Attend team huddles and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Support a professional, accountable team culture.
