About The Position

The Electrician Senior Intermediate (III) maintains, troubleshoots, and improves electrical systems and production equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across assigned manufacturing areas. This role provides advanced electrical support, develops detailed job plans, and mentors lower‑level electricians to improve overall plant performance and technical capability. The Electrician Senior Intermediate (III) is expected to perform assigned duties with a strong focus on safe work practices, high-quality workmanship, adherence to standards, continued growth in advanced maintenance knowledge, and clear communication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of Electrician Intermediate (II) requirements (DOS)
  • Previous electrical experience
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in advanced electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with PLC hardware and industrial control systems
  • Ability to read, interpret, and mark up electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Understanding of NEC requirements
  • Basic knowledge of e-stop systems and safety components
  • Troubleshooting of components such as PLCs, AC/DC drives, relay logic, single-loop controllers, pneumatics & hydraulics
  • Ability to size wire and components for single- and three-phase circuits
  • Strong understanding of PLC operation and control system fundamentals

  • 3-4 years of electrical experience in manufacturing
  • Industrial electrical certification or technical school coursework
  • Advanced training in PLCs, VFDs, robotics, or automation

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced maintenance on process and support equipment including MCCs, motors, inverters, Converters, Reactors, and power distribution components.
  • Provide advanced maintenance on PLCs, robotics, drives, and associated automation systems.
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair complex issues impacting safety, quality, or productivity.
  • Distinguish between mechanical, electrical, process, and product-related issues.
  • Provide detailed findings and root-cause information to operations and maintenance leadership.
  • Recommend and verify necessary updates to electrical schematics and documentation.
  • Lead and execute PM and CM activities, including inspections, measurements, adjustments, and repairs/replacements based on PM or PdM results.
  • Develop detailed job plans and request updates to schematics as required.
  • Execute assigned work orders to support reliability improvements, production and quality enhancements, and equipment installation and upgrades.
  • Perform installation or replacement of motors, drives, line reactors, filters, induction chokes, starters, control systems, PLC hardware, and facility electrical systems.
  • Coach and support Electrician Intermediate (II) employees as they develop required skills.
  • Assist Electrician Advanced (IV) and Electrician Master (V) team members with advanced installations and upgrades.
  • Continue developing personal expertise in preparation for higher-level roles.
