Under direction of an Electrical Supervisor, repairs, replaces and services electrical systems and equipment on Board-managed facilities. This is a Department of Transportation (DOT) designated safety sensitive position. This is a designated Essential Employee position. Works in and around Board facilities, airport grounds and airport operations areas; works near roadways and moving aircraft. Works outdoors for extended periods of time in inclement weather. Performs manual labor, frequently exerting forces equivalent to lifting 50 pounds, and occasionally exerting forces equivalent to lifting approximately up to 100 pounds. Works at various heights up to 100 feet; uses ladders and power-lift equipment. Works in awkward positions such as stooping, squatting or with arms above the head for extended periods of time. Uses hand, power, and precision tools. Communicates by telephone, two-way radio and in person. Uses near visual acuity in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems. Uses color perception in working with electrical wiring and components. Drives to locations on Airport property.
