About The Position

Blackwave designs, manufactures and ships flight-qualified, composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs) for launch vehicles and satellites. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company delivers COPVs from a standardized portfolio with flight heritage. The mission of the Electrician is to support the electrical and automation systems that keep our production environment running—building, testing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems while troubleshooting issues with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.

Requirements

• Recognized electrician qualification, vocational training, or equivalent technical education and experience
• Prior experience with electrical installation, control cabinets, automation systems, or industrial equipment
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated production equipment
• English is required
• Ability to understand and follow technical documentation and verbal instructions in English
• Ability to clearly document technical issues and communicate with engineering and production teams
• Good knowledge of control cabinet construction and electrical wiring
• Technical understanding of automation systems, sensors, and actuators
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Ability to systematically diagnose and resolve technical problems
• Careful, structured, and safety-conscious approach to electrical work
• Strong problem-solving mindset
• Interest in technical systems and understanding how things work
• Hands-on and proactive approach to troubleshooting and maintenance
• Calm and focused when resolving technical issues
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
• Willingness to think beyond the immediate task and contribute to improvements
• U.S. citizen or U.S. national, a U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), a refugee or asylee admitted under U.S. law, or otherwise authorized to receive U.S. export-controlled information from the Department of State.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PLC diagnostics and I/O troubleshooting is preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an advantage
• Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Assemble, wire, and test control cabinets and electrical systems according to technical specifications and applicable standards
• Ensure electrical installations are functional, safe, well documented, and properly maintained
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults quickly to restore machine availability
• Support the implementation and improvement of automation systems
• Troubleshoot PLCs, I/O signals, sensors, and actuators in collaboration with the automation team
• Contribute to reliable and efficient production through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
• Assemble and wire control cabinets according to circuit diagrams and technical specifications
• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems and automated production equipment
• Diagnose electrical faults and identify root causes in a systematic manner
• Read and interpret PLC programs and perform I/O diagnostics
• Check sensors, actuators, and other electrical and automation components
• Support troubleshooting and minor PLC program adjustments together with the automation team
• Document electrical changes, repairs, and system modifications
• Support the implementation and optimization of automation systems
• Work closely with engineering, automation, and production teams to maintain equipment availability
• Follow applicable safety standards, procedures, and work instructions
