About The Position

ADM is seeking a safety-focused Electrician to support our peanut shelling plant in Headland, AL. This full-time position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical systems across all facility operations. In addition to electrical duties, the Electrician may be called upon to support general maintenance or millwright work when electrical tasks are not active (a team driven atmosphere). This is a hands-on role that directly supports plant uptime, safety, and productivity in an active peanut shelling operation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an industrial electrician.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, codes, and lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Experience with 480V 3-phase wiring, motor control, and diagnostics
  • Ability to troubleshoot, install, and repair a wide range of plant electrical systems
  • Willingness to assist with general maintenance, mechanical work, or millwright tasks when needed
  • Comfortable of working in environments with dust, grease, and varying temperatures
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency call-ins

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed industrial/commercial electrician
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E
  • Experience with automation systems, PLC troubleshooting or programming is a plus
  • Background in food processing environments
  • Familiarity with rigging and mobile equipment (forklift, scissor lift, manlift)

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems including control panels, motor starters, switches, lighting, sensors, and power distribution components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in low and medium voltage systems, including 480V 3-phase equipment, using standard testing equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, drives, PLC systems, and process control equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Execute new equipment installs and wiring, ensuring safe and code-compliant connections.
  • Utilize tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, megohmmeters, and IR thermography devices for testing and analysis.
  • Support and troubleshoot basic automation/PLC control systems; programming experience is a plus.
  • Maintain accurate records of manuals, blueprints, replacement parts, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct safety checks and regular inspections of electrical equipment, tools, and hazard monitoring systems.
  • May be required to assist with mechanical and millwright duties, including replacing motors, rigging equipment, or other mechanical system repairs.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training, and demonstrate commitment to ADM’s “Zero-Injury” culture.
  • Support housekeeping and general maintenance as needed to ensure a safe, clean, and operational workspace.
  • Respond to emergency call ins to address critical equipment failures as needed.
