This role is responsible for maintaining plant electrical equipment, including power transformers, switchgear, motors, and other electrical mechanisms. The electrician will perform, design, and plan various duties such as replacing defective mechanisms, making connections for new installations or existing systems, and replacing motors or motor parts. This includes cleaning, oiling, and maintaining all electrical equipment, machines, and fixtures. The position also involves designing and planning electrical aspects for new expansions or installations across all plant departments as required by management. Additionally, the role requires maintenance, repair, and calibration of all electronic equipment, including control systems for numerically controlled machines and other recording equipment. The electrician will conduct operational tests, repair equipment by disassembling and reassembling components, and ensure proper settings for timing and control mechanisms. Periodic checks of electronic equipment performance are necessary to ensure conformance to manufacturer and production requirements. The ability to work from wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics is essential. The role provides technical assistance to supervisors and foremen, evaluates existing procedures for safety and economy, and develops recommendations for improving electrical and inspection work. The electrician will also assist in developing new techniques and methods, participate in testing tools and materials, and may conduct specialized technical training. Any other reasonably related duties assigned by supervision are also part of the responsibilities.
