Requirements

  • Successfully completed Apprenticeship Program.
  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • 4 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess applicable certifications, licenses and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required.
  • Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift.
  • Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis.
  • Have the ability to work and maneuver on a variety of terrains.
  • Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Installs, trouble shoots, and repairs facility electrical distribution systems, electronics, automation systems, lighting systems, apparatus and devices.
  • Basic skills and knowledge of motor controls, and logic control systems.
  • Qualified candidates should be familiar with low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice and data systems.
  • Position provides quality control using guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations and EMCOR standard practices.
  • Installs and connects power supply wiring and conduit for lighting, general devices, newly installed machines and building equipment
  • Troubleshoot and support production controls and automation components
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged parts, broken wires, cables and connections
  • Knowledge and responsibility to maintain the following electrical distribution equipment: 3 phase 4 wire 277/480 VAC, 3 Phase 4 wire 120/208 VAC, and single phase 3 wire 120/240 VAC
  • Replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, relays, contractors, and control button
  • Maintenance of building lighting, task lighting, parking lot lighting, lighting contactors, emergency lights/exit lights, 120 volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior building lighting, and lighting contactors that are controlled by the energy management system
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings per the NEC
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasking, on 480 volt or less, on all electrical utilities and equipment
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain, organize, cleans shop area and or service van, including inventory control, tool maintenance and calibration of testing equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
