Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrician Journeyman to join our team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Facility (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD! Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years or experience as a Journeyman Electrician in industrial and commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
  • Proven experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems and controls.
  • Proficient with electrical testing instruments and hand/power tools.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Journeyman Electrician License (preferred).
  • Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, and VFDs.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and systems in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specifications to plan electrical installations.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems to identify causes of malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
  • Install and maintain lighting systems, panels, transformers, motors, control circuits, and related electrical components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and other specialized tools.
  • Coordinate electrical work with other trades and departments to support maintenance, renovations, and new construction projects.
  • Document work performed and materials used.
  • Follow and enforce all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, PPE use, and safe work practices.
  • Provide guidance and direction to apprentices or helpers as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
