About The Position

This role involves performing a variety of electrical tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. The Electrician Journey will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, planning installations, working with hazardous wiring, and ensuring all work meets safety and electrical compatibility standards. The position requires the ability to work in various environments, including those with uneven terrain and at heights, and involves the safe operation of tools and equipment.

Requirements

Minimum of 48 months of industrial construction experience.
Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
Ability to climb vertical ladders and work above ground as necessary.
Safe and dexterous use of hand tools.
Safe operation of power tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Reads and understands blueprints.
Assists in modifying or planning new installations to minimize waste of materials and provide access for future maintenance.
Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before the completion of future ceilings and flooring.
Works around hazardous wiring.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using rulers, hand tools, and power tools.
Splices wires using hand tools, soldering equipment, tape, or terminal gaps.
Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
Unwinds and pulls cable.
Connects power cable to equipment using hand tools.
Tests the installed equipment for safety and electrical compatibility.
Disassembles defective electrical equipment.
May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
Cleans and performs minor maintenance activities on tools and equipment.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Safely traverses uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
Climbs vertical ladders and works above ground as necessary.
Performs a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools.
Safely operates power tools and equipment.
Performs all other assigned duties.
