About The Position

The Electrician I performs a variety of electronic and/or electrical repairs and troubleshooting on manufacturing machines and/or facility premises. This role is responsible for performing plant and facility construction wiring and preventive maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or general construction trades required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related manufacturing experience and/or training.
  • Basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC experience.
  • Ability to learn to read, interpret manufacturers drawings, blueprints and written instructions.
  • Familiarity with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Must maintain either no facial hair or a NIOSH Approved Beard as pursuit to Cal/OSHA California Code or Regulations, Title 8, Section 5144(g)(1)(A) and pass an annual respirator fit test.
  • Ability to learn Work Order program and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to speak and present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Evidence of “US person” is required under ITAR.
  • Employee will be required to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE in specified areas.
  • The employee must have a working knowledge of safety standards related to machinery operation use (including lock out / tag out) and machine guarding.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes work orders to indicate necessary maintenance repair.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machines and associated equipment, in order to comply with company safety policies and procedures and manufacturer suggested services procedures.
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Understands and installs/repairs PLC controls and interface.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, contacts, control panels, starters, and positions sensing devices.
  • Removes and replaces electric motors and bearings.
  • Supports other general maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Reads and understands electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Can change fuses and other fault disconnect apparatus.
  • Installs various lighting throughout plant.
  • Understands and can install low voltage telephone, network and control wiring.
  • Understands the National Electrical Code and adheres to it throughout the plant.
  • Does electrical construction wiring to new or remodeled facilities.
  • Follow all department and company measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
  • Employee responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Employee responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Employee required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
