About The Position

The Electrician Helper performs duties which are essentially routine and repetitive, as well as manual and semi-skilled, and assists, under the supervision of a licensed electrician, in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment.

Requirements

Two (2) years of work experience in residential and/or commercial structural wiring and in the installation, alteration and repair of electrical equipment, wires and apparatus; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Basic principles and practices of the electrical trade, including safety procedures; and common tools, equipment and materials used in the electrical trade.
Use hand and power tools common to the electrical trade; read and interpret sketches, simple plans, manuals and other materials; understand oral and written instructions; and perform heavy lifting, moving and other manual work typical of the class.
Possess a valid driver's license to drive in the State of Hawaii at the time of appointment.
Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position effectively and safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application for SIDA clearance.
Must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
