About The Position

Supervise and direct Electrical department personnel and work schedules. Train new personnel on district policies. Maintain logs and records pertaining to department needs. Perform all duties of an Electrical Lead, Electrician I, II, III and IV. Direct and supervise all phases of building Electrical repairs and modifications. Approve parts and material orders for department. Make recommendations concerning hiring, advancement, discipline and discharge of employees. Conduct follow up inspections of completed work. Coordinate repairs or renovations by outside contractors. Take necessary action to immediately report and correct any condition that may cause injury or illness to students or staff. Monitor departmental purchases. Review specifications and prints for new construction. Determine supplies and equipment needed for jobs. Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D. required
Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language
Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements
Work at various heights
Minimum 8 years experience in the trade
Extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances and all types of Electrical systems
Write, comprehend and edit specifications and prints for new construction and modifications to all types of Electrical systems
Current City of Houston Journeyman Electrical license required
Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds
Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks
Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility
Maintain emotional control under stress
Ability to work alone
Ability to keep information confidential

Nice To Haves

City of Houston Master license preferred
