About The Position

AC Corp, a Crete United company, is part of a nationwide network and an emerging leader in energy efficiency focused on making places healthier and the built environment more sustainable. The Electrical Foreman is a supervisor responsible for directing apprentices, mechanics, and journeymen in the successful installation, testing, locating, and repairing of electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures. This role involves verifying correct installation and close collaboration with superintendents, project managers, and clients, including participation in company and client meetings.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of electrical experience
  • Ability to interpret mechanical, plumbing, and structural drawings
  • Ability to think critically and resolve problems
  • Can communicate and give written instruction in a professional manner
  • Comfortable with MS Office (EXCEL, Word, Outlook)
  • Thorough understanding of safety requirements and OSHA guidelines
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, sketches, labels, job site maps/directions, instruction manuals, and written instructions accurately
  • Must be high school graduate or hold G.E.D.
  • Must have valid driver's license due to operating company vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • General understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Give and follow specific directions
  • Schedule daily job site functions, including required manpower
  • Schedule job site inspections
  • Select and purchase appropriate material, tools, and equipment for assigned jobs
  • Inspect completed work for compliance with specifications
  • Accurately maintain all required documentation relating to safety, project administration, purchase orders, change orders, as-built drawings, schedule, and QA/QC
  • Submit timesheets and safety documentation
  • Mentor and assist lower-level electricians
  • Plan layout and install materials and/or equipment required by job
  • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads
  • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Understand and comply with company/job safety requirements
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment
