The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As an Electrician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Install, troubleshoot and repair: A wide variety of process sensing devices (humidity, speed, vacuum, pressure, level, weight, tension, flow, viscosity, etc.) Entire industrial process control systems. This includes electronic, digital, analog, pneumatic, and mechanical control systems Electrical and pneumatic components on standalone production equipment. Both AC and DC motors and drive systems from .25 – 300Hp. Make PLC programming changes, back up electronic files and update blueprints as changes have been made. Read and work to the indicated accuracy, specifications, and tolerances as detailed on engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, equipment manuals, etc. Set up, operate, and read precision testing and measuring instruments to the manufacturer’s specifications of accuracy. Work from both written and verbal instructions with cross functional teams, including engineering groups, manufacturing groups, vendors, etc. all while observing and following 3M safety rules, 3M Guide to Conduct, and Plant Engineering departmental and site work rules. Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties. Safety is a core value at 3M. Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • A minimum three (3) years of experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial setting in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
  • Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M employment testing as a part of the selection process

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in programmable logic controllers, AC&DC drive controls
  • Experience in Pneumatic, analog and digital electronics, including computer/microprocessor control systems
  • Basic mathematics and basic computer skills
