About The Position

Rabalais I&E Constructors, a provider of electrical, instrumentation, and control services, as well as installation, repair, and maintenance services for residential, commercial, and industrial facilities, is seeking an experienced Electrician Apprentice for a jobsite at CC Polymer. Since 1984, Rabalais has built a reputation as a reliable and respected electrical and instrumentation contractor, offering a full range of services from refinery turnarounds to SCADA software solutions. The management team brings over 500 years of combined experience. This role involves assisting electricians in various tasks related to electrical installations and repairs.

Requirements

Possess a valid Electrical Apprentice license.
Safe operation of hand and power tools such as band saws, drills, conduit threaders, hole punches and wire tuggers.
Knowledge of OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices as it pertains to an Electrical helper duties.
Knowledge of use, limitations and maintenance of all Personal Protective Equipment required for the assigned work.
Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with working from elevated work areas and personnel lift equipment.
Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with the assigned work including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, Emergency Action Plans, Safe Work Permits, Incident Reporting, and Hazcom procedures.
Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical codes.
Ability to travel.
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Osha 10 a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist electrician to install and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
Measure, cut, and bend wires and conduit using ruler and hand tools.
Drill holes for wiring using power drill and pull or push wiring through opening.
Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
Perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches using hand tools.
Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order.
Disassemble defective electrical equipment, such as motors using hand tools.
Load, transport, unload, and furnish Electrician with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
May erect scaffolding.
May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials during installation.
Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft person.
Assist in the Installation of electrical raceway systems comprised of rigid PVC and EMT conduit and aluminum cable tray.
Installation of electrical devices such as light fixtures and start/stop stations.
Assist an Electrician in bending conduit using manual, mechanical, hydraulic and electric conduit benders.
Assist in installing electrical conductors (cable pulling).
Properly pack and pour seals.
