About The Position

The Electrician and Controls Field Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, electrical panels, equipment, and fixtures. Additionally, they will assist in the troubleshooting of PLC’s, HMI’s and numerical control interfaces.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of electrical principles, voltage, current, resistance, and Ohm's law, is essential.
  • Professional understanding of blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices.
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of PLC controlled systems, HMI configuration and programming Control circuit analysis and hardware.
  • Mandatory involvement in all stages of the product lifecycle, encompassing electrical and hardware aspects, control system installation, rigorous testing, start-up procedures, and thorough debugging.
  • Capable of addressing fundamental customer site requirement adjustments and assisting in delivering solutions for completion of equipment installation, start-ups, and testing as per design specifications.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and types of அதன் maintenance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree, PE, SSE in electrical, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of two-years and/or equivalent experience preferred in PLC and HMI configuration and programming Control circuit analysis, design, troubleshooting and solving software/hardware issues in an industrial high voltage electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for comprehensive heavy duty electrical installations, encompassing the connection from the factory input source, the initialization of equipment, and the wiring of control panels.
  • Executes tasks that demand a deep understanding of electrical and electronic theories and principles, mechanical principles, written specifications, local and national electrical codes, material properties, and the operational principles and applications of electronic equipment.
  • Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions, whether conveyed verbally or in written form, regarding both emergency and scheduled repair, installation, and inspection tasks to be executed.
  • Initiates equipment start-up and shutdown procedures in strict adherence to operational needs, company safety protocols, and compliance with OSHA regulations governing machine activation and deactivation.
  • Attains expertise in operating site-specific automation system software and technology, which includes alignment systems, AGVs, heating solutions, and more.
  • Provides technical support for operational needs related to PLCs, HMIs, and network interfaces.
  • Performs installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment, encompassing PLCs, HMIs, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Services electronic equipment through the inspection, testing, and replacement of malfunctioning components, circuit modules, printed circuit boards, fuses, and other related electronic devices.
  • Maintains the installation and upkeep of communication cables, power distribution cables, and wiring, including performing necessary splicing tasks as needed.
  • Develops detailed working procedures to assess material requirements or replacements and establishes a logical approach to resolve repair issues.
  • Formulates a concise and comprehensive tie-in that outlines encountered issues, details troubleshooting procedures undertaken, corrective measures implemented, identifies the root cause, and delineates future actions.
  • Maintains and generates documentation essential for training and knowledge dissemination related to the supported control systems.
  • Collaborates with and provides assistance to fellow engineering colleagues involved in complementary electrical hardware engineering tasks.
  • Advocates for and adheres to sound safety practices and habits, including but not limited to the proper utilization of all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Executes all responsibilities in a safe and cooperative manner and promptly notifies the supervisor of any potentially hazardous conditions or other safety-related concerns.
