About The Position

Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for an Electrician 4. This is an onsite position in Manassas, VA, with 4 open positions. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical components of facilities equipment and systems, performing various types of maintenance including inspections and coordination with contractors. A strong understanding of electrical codes and safety protocols is essential, as is the ability to interpret diagrams and respond to system failures.

Requirements

  • Technical proficiency in electrical systems (validated through interview)
  • Practical industrial experience over formal education alone
  • Ability to explain and apply knowledge in real-world scenarios
  • Hands-on technical knowledge (transformers, AFDs, electrical systems)
  • Industrial troubleshooting approach
  • Safety awareness and high-voltage practices
  • Preventive maintenance (PM); exposure to corrective maintenance preferred
  • Experience in industrial environments (residential-only backgrounds not sufficient)
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up
  • Strong hands-on maintenance and diagnostics capability
  • Experience working within structured maintenance programs (PM schedules, work orders)
  • 3–5+ years of industrial/commercial electrical experience
  • High voltage & medium voltage systems

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician License is preferred
  • Medium Voltage Certification
  • NFPA 70E (Arc Flash) Certification is preferred
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 standards

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical components of facilities equipment and systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including inspections and coordination with contractors.
  • Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and NFPA 70E; follow all safety protocols including LOTO.
  • Interpret electrical one-line diagrams and perform feeder switching on redundant switchboards.
  • Respond promptly to system failures and alarms, restoring equipment functionality and ensuring system reliability.
  • Conduct detailed preventive maintenance on complex facilities equipment using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on: Switchgear (LV / MV), UPS systems, batteries, and distribution panels.
  • Troubleshoot electrical failures and restore system uptime quickly.
  • Execute safe switching procedures and verify system status prior to energization.
