About The Position

This position is responsible for Plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical/electronic equipment, as well as other associated equipment. The individual in this position must be capable of troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, programming, documenting, upgrading, and the laying out and installing of equipment and systems. This position will ensure that the Plant instrumentation and control systems operate at optimum levels, and that new programs and/or changes to existing programs are successfully implemented with minimal direction and supervision. The individual in this position will accomplish these tasks by utilizing a team concept, through working with team members and following direction and instructions from a Team Leader, Supervisor, Shift Manager or other qualified maintenance department personnel. Work relationships and communication are key ingredients to the success of the individual holding this position.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of electricity, electronics, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices, plant equipment, trouble shooting and repair procedures, and equipment installation.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ranges, averages, fractions, measurements and calculate percentages to make proper adjustments and calibrations, as required.
  • 3- 5 years of instrumentation/electronic/electrical relevant experience.
  • Graduation from a technical trade and/or completion of an apprenticeship, certificate or associate degree program in a related field.
  • Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position.
  • Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming and/or PLC operations preferred.
  • A certificate of Instrument Tech. training at an accredited university and/or hold an elec. journeyman license with the State of Idaho or with a state that has a reciprocal agreement and/or a minimum of six years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic, electrical, instrumentation and control systems, which includes installations, calibrations, maintenance, documentation, and repairs.
  • Ensure production equipment is properly configured and set to desired controls to assist with meeting desired operational efficiencies and goals.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, program, document, upgrade, and lay out and install equipment and systems.
  • Ensure that the Plant instrumentation and control systems operate at optimum levels.
  • Successfully implement new programs and/or changes to existing programs with minimal direction and supervision.
