About The Position

This position performs skilled electrical work on a wide range of systems, devices, and equipment across the hospital campus. It ensures that essential electrical operations remain safe, dependable, and fully functional. As an Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties: Electrical Installation: Install conduits, wiring, fittings, fixtures, motors, controls, and related equipment for campus systems System Maintenance: Perform testing, repairs, and preventive checks on generators, motors, and electrical devices Safety Compliance: Work on energized systems while following strict safety rules, precautions, and approved procedures Troubleshooting Work: Diagnose electrical failures using drawings, schematics, and specialized testing tools Technical Calculations: Perform accurate voltage drop calculations, load assessments, and determine proper circuit protection and wiring Equipment Operation: Use advanced meters, probes, and diagnostic tools to assess electrical conditions.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions
  • Conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
  • Conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
