About The Position

The Electrical Testing Lead’s role is to guide and direct electrical testing operations on the shop floor, interfacing directly with shop electrical assembly team members, the production supervisor, production managers, and project managers. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in organizing, operating, and managing a successful operation engaged in the design, manufacture and fielding of industrial power distribution systems.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct, coach, and build high-performing teams.
  • Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids, and able to perform simple shop math.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and supervise multiple work orders and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and following product specifications and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of and training in forklift, manlift, and overhead crane operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, often changing environment.
  • High School diploma, GED, Master Electrician’s License or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of related factory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industry "best practices" relating to electrical power distribution systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate teams, drive performance, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive, accountable work environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams and wiring diagrams and assist in the checking procedure for the same.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and data entry/reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with various testing practices such as Loop Tests, Point to Point Tests, Function Tests, etc.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of electrical testing experience.
  • Power generation plant experience, particularly with gas turbines
  • Experience with large industrial power units, Power networks, chillers and chiller systems

Responsibilities

  • Guide and direct the activities of the electrical testing assembly workers on the shop floor.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to support production.
  • Responsible for executing instructions from the Production Supervisor by delegating work to the testing crew.
  • Assists in enforcing standards and complying with regulations.
  • Report on defective material or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment that follow TAS’ prescribed safety regulations.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedule with minimum supervision.
  • Complete and record documentation as required by specific jobs
  • Other responsibility as assigned by TAS.
