About The Position

The Tooling Electrician I will be responsible for inventorying, inspecting, testing, and timely completion of generator toolkits required for site project requests. Will update project schedules as appropriate when toolkits are complete and have passed inspection. This role involves maintaining the housekeeping of the warehouse to meet safety standards, performing visual, electrical, and mechanical inspections of tools, and learning to test generator components on large electrical equipment. The technician will support troubleshooting and repair of damaged electrical components and equipment, as well as preventative maintenance. They will learn to read line drawings and become familiar with electrical codes, follow Standard Maintenance Protocols, and adhere to site safety, quality, company, and government requirements. The role also includes repairing and maintaining test and industrial equipment, performing hand solder repairs at the board or component level, and maintaining inventory of supplies to ensure generator toolkits are complete. Responsibilities extend to coordinating, labeling, and packaging tooling for outage projects, performing quality assurance checks before shipping, and ensuring timely completion of kit assembly. The technician will also review returned toolkits, clean and reorganize them, submit restock requests, and complete required annual safety training. The position may require travel and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of experience in tool handling or a warehouse environment
• Basic computer knowledge which includes but not limited to the following: writing, modifying, and editing text using work processing applications; create and format simple spreadsheets, create basic presentations; know how to forward emails and cc emails; understand how to search, assess search, and download information from the internet
• Electrical schooling or electrical experience required
• Experience with both AC and DC voltages, single and three phase, DC voltages up to 120kv, and AC voltages up to 900KVA.
• Strong team player attitude; maintain flexibility within the changing business priorities
• Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain housekeeping of warehouse to meet safety standards and follow all safety guidelines
• Perform visual, electrical, mechanical, electronic inspection of tools, report and flag any non-compliant items under the supervision of experienced electrician
• Learn to test all generator components on large electrical equipment
• Support the troubleshooting and repair damaged electrical components and equipment as well as preventative maintenance
• Learn to read line drawings for repair and troubleshooting activities and become familiar with electrical codes
• Follow Standard Maintenance Protocols, tasks and adhere to site safety, quality, company, and government requirements
• Help repair and maintain test and industrial equipment and perform quality hand solder repair to the board or component level
• Willingness to be on call for emergency equipment troubleshooting
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure that each generator toolkit has the proper tools needed.
• Coordinate, label, and package all generator tooling needed for each outage project.
• Quality assurance check each kit before shipping to make sure there is a kit template and a calibration certificate enclosed if necessary
• Timely completion of kit assembly to meet tool center schedule requirements
• Ensure that kits are delivered with no quality issues (missing parts or non-working parts).
• Review inventory of tools returned from site to ensure all items are accounted for as outlined in inventory sheets
• Clean, reorganize, and relabel all returned toolkits
• Create and submit restock requests for replacement parts and tools
• Complete required, annual safety training
• Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
• Travel may be required
