About The Position

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join their mission of bringing the latest Electrical Systems to the US Navy’s Fleet of Submarines. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and delivering electrical systems. The position offers flexible work arrangements, with some remote work possible depending on the role's interaction with classified material. The company emphasizes creating state-of-the-art submarines that operate in extreme environments, contributing to national security.

Requirements

• Minimum Associate of Science degree in electrical engineering or engineering degree with related electrical background
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Level Clearance
• 10 or more years of submarine shipbuilding and/or service experience

Nice To Haves

• Prior defense contractor systems engineering experience
• Former submarine service
• Shipyard/manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and review changes to electrical system diagrams including system interfaces
• Evaluate electrical cableways design and routing drawings
• Troubleshoot issues identified by construction team
• Write procedures to test and maintain electrical systems
• Interface with internal customers to ensure the system is installed to plan
• Work with operations to support installation and test
• Emphasis on mentoring junior personnel
• Review and mentor junior engineers
