Experienced Electrical Test Engineer
About The Position
General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join their mission of bringing the latest Electrical Systems to the US Navy’s Fleet of Submarines. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and delivering electrical systems. The position offers the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art submarines that operate in extreme environments and contribute to national security. The role also includes mentoring junior personnel. Electric Boat offers flexible work arrangements, with the possibility of some remote work, depending on the nature of the work and classified material involved.
Requirements
- Minimum Associate of Science degree in electrical engineering or engineering degree with related electrical background
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Level Clearance
- 10 or more years of submarine shipbuilding and/or service experience
Nice To Haves
- Prior defense contractor systems engineering experience
- Former submarine service
- Shipyard/manufacturing experience
Responsibilities
- Develop and review changes to electrical system diagrams including system interfaces
- Evaluate electrical cableways design and routing drawings
- Troubleshoot issues identified by construction team
- Write procedures to test and maintain electrical systems
- Interface with internal customers to ensure the system is installed to plan
- Work with operations to support installation and test
- Emphasis on mentoring junior personnel
