About The Position

As an Electrical Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping our manufacturing operation running smoothly. You'll troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and production equipment while performing preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability. You'll help drive safety, efficiency, and operational excellence throughout the facility. This position works primarily on 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a 16-month course at an accredited university required
  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to effectively work in teams
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
  • Ability to read and understand machine part lists, preventative maintenance manuals, schematics and blueprints
  • Proficient computer skills including the ability to navigate and perform needed duties on CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Ability to use rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Ability to operate equipment including machines, alignment tools, high lifts, forklifts, boom lifts, scissors lifts, etc.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors and drives, PLC, and instrumentation and process controls

Nice To Haves

  • Corrugated manufacturing and converting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of machinery and electrical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Work with production personnel to troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Work in conjunction with outside contractors and/or vendors as well as OEM’s to troubleshoot and make repairs to plant equipment
  • Locate sources of problems by observing machines in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting using the proper tools and PPE
  • Control downtime by performing routine preventive maintenance techniques
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Use computer system to document work and account for parts
  • Communicate with the team using verbal, written or electronic communication including phone, email, radio, or other
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
