About The Position

Hoosier Racing Tire in Plymouth, IN is seeking an Electrical Technician – 1st shift to join our team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations through equipment maintenance, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and safe repair practices while ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met. This position is project-based and is expected to run approximately 12 – 18 months with the opportunity for long-term employment based on business needs and performance.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in an electrical field, or 3+ years of relevant experience in an electrical field
  • Certificate in an electrical field
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and complete high-quality repairs on AC/DC electrical control systems, including PLCs, hardwired circuits, field devices, motors, drives, and servo systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems using schematics, diagnostic software, precision measurement tools, and specialized testing equipment.
  • Replace defective components, restore equipment to operation, and verify proper system functionality and performance.
  • Perform maintenance on hydraulic, lubrication, piping, and fluid power systems, including draining, refilling, bleeding, and repairing associated components.
  • Operate machine tools, hand tools, and welding equipment to fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical, structural, and sheet metal components.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, labor time, faults, and corrective actions within SAP/PUMA systems using an iPad.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including LOTO and PPE requirements, while maintaining compliance with plant, corporate, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams while supporting operational needs through overtime, coverage, and additional assigned responsibilities.
