About The Position

The Electrical Technician is responsible for setting up and operating processing equipment to manufacture products according to established quality standards to meet production demands. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment. The technician will also write and execute equipment qualifications for new or modified tooling or equipment to test and qualify items, providing documented proof that operations are within established parameters. They may also monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. This position requires adherence to all safety precautions and regulations, proactive identification and reporting of safety hazards, and providing leadership and technical support for capital project installations, equipment upgrades, equipment startup, process troubleshooting, and production support. This support involves extensive use of electrical and machine shop knowledge and significant work on production equipment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Associates degree in electrical/electronics or equivalent education and experience preferred
  • Skills in computer operations and functions, both Hardware (CPU, monitors, board level) and Software (Office, AutoCAD electrical) preferred
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Hardware: Control Logix, Panel View Plus (HMI), Micrologix, PLC 5, Servers and Software, RSlogix 5000, RSLinx, Factory Talk, CCW, Drive Executive, Visual Motion preferred

Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety precautions and regulations.
  • Be proactive in addressing safety issues and concerns.
  • Responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.
  • Provide leadership and technical support, in the areas of capital project installations, equipment upgrades, equipment startup, process troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Support of such activities involves the full knowledge and use of the electrical & machine shop, as well as lengthy endeavors on the production equipment.
