Job Title: Electrical Technician (shift) Summary: Applies electrical theory, related knowledge, and advanced troubleshooting skills to maintain and repair operational electrical/electronic machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry by performing the following duties. Must be able to work a 12 hour rotating shift (4 on, 4 off; includes nights, weekends & holidays).

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relay logic
  • AC/DC motor and drive theory
  • Transformer theory
  • PLC experience
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts (days & nights), holidays, weekends

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses cause of electrical/electronic malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all of the plant electrical and electronic systems in all areas of the plant.
  • Performs a wide variety of electrical/electronic installations and maintenance on plant systems.
  • Works with precision test equipment to test and diagnose problems with electrical/electronic equipment and machinery in the plant.
  • Constantly watches over machines, tools, and areas assigned ensuring they are being maintained in top condition.
  • Repair and/or replace defective electrical and electronic controls, wiring, hardware, and apparatus.
  • Maintain and follow technical procedures as pertains to specific systems and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
