About The Position

Endeavour is looking for a motivated Electro-Mechanical Technician to be a key part of our team that is designing and building breakthrough power conversion solutions for the energy sector. You will play a critical role in bringing these technologies to life, bridging the gap between high-level electrical engineering design, testing, and physical deployment. From building high-power prototypes to commissioning complex power conversion systems, you will ensure our systems meet rigorous performance and safety standards while maintaining a proactive, "zero-to-one" mindset in our fast-paced environment. The Mechanical Technician, Power Electronics needs to be agile, professional, and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. The right person is trustworthy with confidential information, highly organized, self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, can think strategically, and works equally as well independently as with a team. Endeavour is highly selective about the people we bring on board because our ecosystem depends on it. Change happens quickly here, and we must maintain a strong team of honest, communicative, collaborative, open-minded, strategic, reliable, and driven team members. We seek ultra-creatives and superstar performers with self-awareness, a sense of humility, and a hunger to make a positive impact in the world. Endeavour offers flexibility and endless growth opportunities to those who can harness their skills and talents and identify how and where to use them to add value. Our support team is the heart of the ecosystem. We’re a diverse group of bright, passionate, dedicated people, working together to make a real difference. Are you ready to join the journey? Endeavour is taking on global challenges, and to create the appropriate global solutions is not easy. Our teams work extremely hard because we believe in Endeavour’s mission: to guarantee clean water and renewable energy to everyone, everywhere by decentralizing infrastructure, developing new technologies, & deploying energy, water, and waste treatment solutions that are more profitable than those that currently exist. We are a group of passionate change-makers who want to leave the world better than the way we found it. Endeavour prides itself on hiring talented, highly motivated people because that’s what our mission requires. There is a strong sense of camaraderie between good-natured people who bring their A-game to work every day to make a difference. To work at Endeavour is to know that you are part of something special—something bigger than yourself.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics testing, high-voltage/current testing, or utility-scale energy projects.
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or higher (or equivalent vocational mastery/certification).
  • Experience in constructing first-of-kind power subassemblies while maintaining high levels of process control and technical documentation.
  • Experience operating specialized testing equipment and fabricating custom test rigs or load banks to simulate various grid and off-grid conditions.
  • Proven track record in high-stakes, fast-paced, agile teams and environments where meticulous craftsmanship, active problem solving, and heavy collaboration across multiple disciplines are required.
  • Extensive experience building and testing high-power conversion systems for both grid-tied and off-grid applications.
  • Expert knowledge of high-voltage safety protocols, PPE requirements, and industry standards for handling power supplies and energy storage systems.
  • Proven ability to build complex electrical cabinets, power stacks, and busbar assemblies to exacting engineering specifications.
  • Skilled in using high-speed oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and thermal cameras to validate system performance and gather technical data.
  • Management of liquid cooling loops, heat sinks, and airflow for high-density power electronics.
  • Skilled in precision soldering and SMT rework on power-stage PCBAs, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, and magnetic components.
  • Proficiency in electrical failure analysis at the component and system levels, identifying root causes in complex power loops and control circuits.
  • Ability to maintain meticulous records of test results, modifications, and "as-built" schematics to support iterative engineering design.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLC programming or basic Python scripting for automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Familiarity with the installation and qualification of grid-interactive systems, including synchronization hardware, protection relays, and utility interconnects.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge the gap between high-level electrical engineering design, testing, and physical deployment.
  • Assisting in the electrical build of our power converters, actively working with the electrical and mechanical engineering teams.
  • Testing and commissioning of our power converters from prototyping to certification, and through deployment.
  • Actively partner with design engineers to provide feedback on "Design for Manufacturing" (DFM) and "Design for Test" (DFT), helping to improve hardware reliability through every prototype build.
