About The Position

Assists in the servicing of the Village's electrical and pumping components in facilities owned and operated by the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association. This will include water plant facilities, wastewater plants, lift stations, pumping facilities, and all physical structures with the Village. Requires valid Arkansas driver’s license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holiday callouts.
  • Must have technical ability, knowledge and training to wire and connect electrical panels, lights, motors, pumps, and transformers.
  • Must have technical ability, knowledge and training to install sewer pumps, controls and electrical circuits.
  • Must be capable of distinguishing colors.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must be a licensed electrician in the state of Arkansas.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Requires a valid Arkansas driver’s license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
  • Arkansas Journeyman Electrician License.

Responsibilities

  • Basic understanding of the NEC, safety and building codes.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of POA vehicles, tools and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of the proper use of handheld meters and hand tools.
  • Reports problems to Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate with the general public and coworkers in polite and efficient manner.
  • Assists coworkers and other departments in system operations and maintenance tasks and duties.
  • Basic ability to locate streets, addresses, and water and sewer lines on maps.
  • Responsible for responding to customer requests and complaints and completing work orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Responsible for follow up of actions, ongoing personal development, and department related training, licensing, and certification.
  • Responsible for operating in accordance with Local, State, Federal Regulations, and Public Utilities Policies and Procedures.
  • May be required to work periodically for other divisions as directed.
  • Follow all Property Owners' Association (POA) policies and safety rules.
  • Required to drive a POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.
  • Regular attendance is required and required to be on time to work.
  • Required to be available for standby duty and work after hours and weekends whenever necessary in varying weather conditions.
  • Service electrical components of physical facilities of the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association.
  • Inventory of materials.
  • Install sewer and water pumps, motors, transformers, panels, services and controls and maintain them.
  • Assist in training apprentice.
  • May be required to work from ladders and in confined spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.
