About The Position

Electrical Technicians are responsible for executing plant electrical related projects that are requested through our company CMMS system. Responsibilities also include the timely repair and preventative maintenance of advanced manufacturing equipment in the plant. At the Twin Falls facility, we are looking for skilled technicians with experience in managing the ongoing electrical projects and electrical related preventative maintenance. Qualified applicants must possess tangible experience in troubleshooting mechanical / electrical breakdowns in manufacturing production equipment and proper execution of new electrical installs as per the NEC and NFPA-70E. Technicians must follow all established safety, GMP`s and environmental standards and adhere to all plant technical standards. Technicians must also comply with all federal, state, local and company regulations including, OSHA, FDA, EPA and SQF.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma, GED
  • 2-year Technical Trade school certification, military applicable certifications, vocational training, Journeyman License preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a food production / manufacturing environment operating, repairing and/or troubleshooting issues on filling, packaging and other processing equipment. Previous dairy, food or beverage industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of safety & lock out tag out programs
  • Previous experience in a combination of the following systems: Pumps, Mechanical Drives, Lubrication, Fasteners, Piping, Proper Tool Use, Motors, Pneumatics, Sensors, Proximity Switches, Automatic Valves and other basic mechanical systems and processes
  • Experience with basic hand & power tools
  • Knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
  • Weekend work and overtime may be required
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, work overhead, work in confined spaces and work in very hot and very cool environments
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 60 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman License preferred
  • Previous dairy, food or beverage industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement plant electrical related projects in a professional manner that meets electrical standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
  • Perform electrical PMs on all electrical equipment including switchgear, electrical cabinets including cabinet ventilation and cooling systems.
  • Adhere to NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, as well as the Chobani electrical maintenance program.
  • Utilize plant computerized maintenance management system for creating, editing, and completing work orders.
  • Identify and correct problems such as electrical/control systems (sensors, limit switches, solenoids, motors, Servos, PLC programming, PID loops, etc.) and mechanical systems (pumps, vacuum pumps, belt drivers, gear reduction drives, piping, valve diagnosis and replacement, air handling systems, material deliver systems, etc.).
  • Control downtime by informing operation workers of routine preventative maintenance and operation techniques; monitor compliance and report to supervisor as necessary.
  • Ensure operation of electrical equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on all production equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and PLC). Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering guidelines.
  • Identify and implement safety and continuous improvements, equipment calibrations and reliability opportunities.
  • Install repair parts or additions for process as necessary.
