About The Position

Responsible for all phases of electrical, electronic, and control systems work. Will be required to perform electrical/electronic functions to include the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all plant electrical and control equipment. Must possess the experience and sufficient knowledge to install, test, repair, calibrate, and troubleshoot problems and failures with control devices, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and other microprocessor-based controllers. Will participate in the startup of industrial process and mechanical equipment systems as required. Required to perform field service work associated with the start-up, operation, and maintenance of control systems on electrical, mechanical, and process equipment. The ability to install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain addressable fire systems, security and access control systems, and toxic & flammable gas life safety detection systems. Provide 24/7 emergency response in support of electrical, fire alarm, security, and control systems. Must be willing to practice safe work habits according to OSHA and EHS expectations and have strong safety ethics. Required to support two semi-annual utility shutdowns. Availability for periodic call-ins is strongly desired. Will assist fellow trade and service workers as directed.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts Journeyman's electrical license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable work experience.
  • Ability to install, test, repair, calibrate, and troubleshoot problems and failures with control devices, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other microprocessor-based controllers.
  • Ability to install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain addressable fire systems, security and access control systems, and toxic & flammable gas life safety detection systems.
  • Willingness to practice safe work habits according to OSHA and EHS expectations.
  • Strong safety ethics.
  • Ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, staging, work platforms and/or tight spaces.
  • Ability to crawl over and around equipment located in building pipe chases and mechanical rooms or construction areas.
  • Ability to work for long periods on one's feet, requires frequent bending and kneeling and carrying/lifting objects heavy items up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to read construction and schematic drawings, process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs), and ladder logic diagrams.

Nice To Haves

  • Solid understanding of electronic programmable equipment, including building automation & control systems and programmable logic controllers, with programming experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to use oscilloscopes and electronic calibration equipment.
  • Availability for periodic call-ins is strongly desired.
  • Minimum supervision required.
